Tryntje Larkens, a board member of TAZAMA e.V., is a Soroptimist herself. Soroptimists form a global network of dedicated women who advocate for women’s rights and combat violence against women and girls. The issue of female genital mutilation (FGM) is also a key concern for many clubs.
As part of our “Moving Cinema” project, Tryntje regularly presents TAZAMA’s work at various Soroptimist International clubs to raise awareness about FGM and gain supporters.
On April 14, 2026, she was a guest at the SI Club Schwerin. In a roughly 40-minute presentation, she informed the club members about this cruel human rights violation against girls and women, as well as about TAZAMA’s work in the fight against FGM.
The presentation left a deep impression. The club members spontaneously decided to support our project — a strong sign of solidarity and an important contribution to our ongoing work.
We would like to express our sincere thanks to the SI Club Schwerin for their interest, open dialogue, and valuable support.
